What makes Mallorca such a popular place to holiday?
Mallorca, the largest island of the Balearic Islands and one of the seven Canary Islands, is a popular holiday destination for many Europeans. The island has an established tourism industry which makes it easy to find accommodations at all levels of luxury, with options including 5-star resorts, affordable hotels and apartments and campsites.
Mallorca is known for its beaches. Some are secluded coves while others are bustling towns like Palma Nova and Magaluf. There are over 2,400 km (1,500 mi) of coastline on Mallorca, so there is plenty to explore!
The region's cuisine is another reason why people come to Mallorca for their holidays.
The cuisine is influenced by many cultures. Seafood, potatoes and fresh produce are popular ingredients. Inland you can find sausages and meats like lamb. Many foods are prepared over an open fire or a wood grill; try tasting some of Mallorca's wines and beers too!

You've just moved to a new city and you're invited to your first dinner party - where do you go for food delivery? There's so many options it all becomes very confusing! What should you order? Where does it come from? Who picks it up from there?
Which is the best month for a holiday in Mallorca?
Mallorca, a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea, is an exciting and romantic destination for a family holiday. It's the perfect place for winter holidays with excellent schools and sports facilities, as well as varied shops and restaurants.
Mallorca offers visitors many varied attractions from art museums to world-class golf courses. The old town of Palma de Mallorca is an architectural gem with buildings that date back to the 12th century, whilst the more modern parts of the city offer excellent shopping facilities and leisure activities. With it’s mild climate, warm water and miles of sandy beaches it’s easy to see why people love spending their winters here!
Mallorca's climate is mild and sunny, with temperatures varying from 14-28 degrees all year round. The best time to visit if you're looking for a beach holiday is between June and September when it's warm but not too hot and there are still long periods of sunshine. If you're planning a winter holiday, then November to April are best with lots of sun but less windy days. You'll still get good weather during May, June, October and November but it might be slightly cooler on some days.
For those who like to explore by car, then there are plenty of rental companies on offer. A UK driving licence is accepted but you will need an International Driving Permit if your licence doesn’t include a photo or your address. If you're planning to hire a car then be aware that Mallorca has some of Europe's busiest roads and so accident rates are high.
You'll find cheap flights to Mallorca from most UK airports but it's best to book well in advance if you can. You'll get more choice and better prices at British Airways, Monarch Airlines and Thomas Cook which all fly direct from London Gatwick Airport. Most flights take between 1-3 hours but some do take longer depending on how far away you live from London.
What are some things to do and see on Mallorca?
We're excited to announce our newest holiday destination on the Spanish coast, Cala de Sant Vicent. This little cove is just off the beaten track and will be perfect for a relaxing, low key getaway. It's a great spot to go kayaking, or enjoy some of the local seafood at one of the many restaurants around town. Make sure to stop by and see us at our office during your stay!
This summer holiday season is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet. Just a stone's throw from our newest office location, it will be easy to arrange an all-inclusive beach vacation or boat excursion around town. Whether you want to hit up one of many nearby tourist attractions or enjoy some relaxation time at one of Cala de Sant Vicent's many charming restaurants and night clubs, we've got you covered. We can't wait for everyone to take advantage of our new office holiday offerings! Make sure to ask us about them when you visit.
Happy holidays and happy travelling this winter! Some things you should know before visiting Mallorca: There are no high mountain ranges in Mallorca, making it warm year-round and less affected by rainfall than other European countries. Our number one tip would be to watch out for coastal currents when swimming - even strong swimmers have been swept out to sea with tragic consequences! These currents are mostly visible at Cap Ferret where there have been 10 fatalities since 2014. That said, if you head south from San Antonio Bay, then east towards Almería, currents are very light.
When should you start planning your trip to Spain?
Planning ahead is key to a successful holiday. Don't wait until the last minute, book your flight and accommodation now! Keep these tips in mind when you're planning your trip to Madrid:
- Book flights that depart from the U.S. two weeks before or after December 25th (December 24th for those of us on the east coast). These are typically cheaper fares and can save you some money!
- Lodgings should be booked as early as possible because hotels are often at full capacity during this time of year. This means that prices tend to be higher than usual, so it pays off to plan ahead and reserve a room early on!
Don’t delay, start planning your Christmas holidays to Madrid today! This is a great opportunity for you and your family to get away from everyday life, relax and be carefree for once!
- You won't regret it!
- Your only task is to book your trip and pack!
When is the best time of year to travel to the Canary Islands?
The Canary Islands are located off the coast of Africa and Portugal. The best time to visit is during their summer months between June to September. This is when the weather is typically at its hottest, averaging 27 degrees Celsius (81 Fahrenheit). The summers also bring dryer weather making it perfect for exploring the islands without getting too wet. The winter months from November to March can still be enjoyable with a little more rain and milder temperatures around 18 degrees Celsius (65 Fahrenheit). However, this will make sightseeing difficult as there are less sunny days, which means you may want to pack some good hiking shoes!
If you want to escape snowy weather at Christmas, then a winter trip might be more up your street. The island of Gran Canaria sees its highest amount of rain from October through January, but even if it does rain, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun and enjoy yourself. For example, there are plenty of indoor activities that could include visiting museums or attending local festivals and carnivals. Whatever time of year you choose to visit make sure you book a package deal that includes flights as well as accommodation so that you don’t spend too much on travelling between different islands! And finally when choosing accommodation for your holiday we would highly recommend staying in apartments rather than hotels to get a better experience as well as saving some money!
Check out these holiday homes near Cala de Sant Vicent...
It's been a long time since I've had the time to just enjoy life and take a holiday. The job of managing my own company has always meant that I have to be there for emergencies, and now that it's getting busy with the Christmas season, I really need a break. Luckily, this year we are running an exciting new promotion from our office holidays team: we can offer you fantastic discounts on holiday homes near Cala de Sant Vicent, Menorca. This is one of the nicest parts of the island - close to Porto Pi and Porto Cristo - so if you want a relaxing break on one of the Balearic Islands, then it's perfect.
The benefits of booking one of these great homes for your Christmas break are that you can go with family or friends, and you get more room for less money. What's not to like about that? Each home has a swimming pool, and you can use them as much as you like - after all, they're yours! As I've said, they're just minutes away from Porto Pi and Porto Cristo if you want to enjoy some restaurants. If not, then just relax back on your veranda or by the pool while watching one of Menorca's famous sunsets.
It's not just me that thinks they're great, though. I had a call from Fiona recently - she told me she couldn't wait to book her holiday with us and was looking forward to being able to relax more than usual because our properties have so much space. If you want to get away from it all next year and enjoy an extended break, then these could be just what you need! If you'd like more information or to make a booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch with my team on...
